21st Feb, 2022 – Mr. Wattson is all set to debut his first-ever art show, “The Chocolate Shop” in Atlanta, Ga, followed by a tour in LA, New York, and Tokyo. Sponsored by Kristen Hard, an artist Liaison and manager, the exhibition provides a journey through a childlike lens into a world imbued with reflective statements and inventive practice. The exhibition is a performance art piece culminating in Wattson’s self-imposed reality as “The Chocolate Shop” owner.

Wattson is widely regarded as an iconic portrait photographer, having photographed some of the most regarded personalities of this decade. Mr. Wattson’s disruptive display urges questions and self-reflection. Many of the works created, blind to the sleeping eye, leave the viewer with much to be discovered. His sense of humor is keenly wrapped within the exhibition. 

Bringing together over 6 years of work, the exhibition includes key sculptures and pieces from a larger collection to be displayed on tour, such as Untitled 2020, Mona Lisa After ***, Isn’t Life Puzzling, The Internal Revolution. Alongside these are several miniature art pieces in the shape of chocolate boxes, all signed and numbered and even filled with real chocolate.  

Wattson was born in 1989 in Estes Park, CO. He lives and works between the countryside of Italy and the countryside in North Carolina. Wattson’s exploration of imagery is notable for its strong associations with mental health, humor, and a culmination of his perspective on the current political climate.

Wattson is curated by Kristen Hard, artist Liaison, having coined the term “post-consumption realism” for this body of work. The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalog.
