NEW YORK – July 14th, 2022 – Williams Equities announced today that it has signed iconic gourmet Italian eatery Mangia to a long-term, 9,500-square-foot restaurant lease at 57 West 57th Street. In addition, Williams signed approximately 7,000 sf of office leases throughout the building.

At the northeast corner of 57th Street and Avenue of the Americas, Mangia will occupy almost 3,000 sf of ground floor space, housing a barista station, Italian bakery, brick pizza oven, and other food services. The lower level, consisting of more than 6,000 sf, will be home to their catering facility. Relocating from across 57th Street, Mangia intends to open at 57 West 57th Street, also known as 1400 Avenue of Americas.

With four prime locations, Mangia is one of New York City’s most desirable Italian eateries, famous for its farm-to-table gourmet artisan Italian cuisine.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mangia to 57 West 57th Street,” said Michael T. Cohen, principal with Williams Equities, who noted that Mangia is a perfect complement to Quality Italian, the other restaurant at the property. “Mangia will be a great amenity for the tenants in our building.”

Mangia has been located on 57th street since its launch in 1981. ”Relocating our flagship store across the street to a larger facility at this landmark corner of 57W 57th will enable us to serve our patrons better”, said Sasha Muniak, founder of Mangia. ”We are excited to be working with Michael T. Cohen and the team of William Equities and we are looking forward to continuing serving New Yorkers, fresh, made-to-order, high-quality food for breakfast, lunch and catering.”

Zach Nathan of Colliers International, represented ownership in the transaction. Adam Henick and Jennifer Bernstein, of Current Real Estate Advisors, represented the tenant.

Michael Joseph, of Colliers International, represented ownership in all the office transactions.

Built in 1928 and renovated in 1988, the 21-story, 170,000-sf neo-classical, brick-and-terracotta building at 57 West 57th Street boasts a roster of Italian eateries and a diversity of medical office tenants, start-ups, and creative firms. The building is located close to Carnegie Hall, the Rodin Studios building, the Fine Arts Society, and the Museum of Modern Art, amid a plethora of shopping, dining, and cultural destinations in the area. Nearby transportation options include the N, R, Q, W, and F subway lines.
