RaceLookup Announces a New Date for the 2022 Pride Run St. Pete event

August 31
22:57 2022
RaceLookup announces Sunday, October 9, 2022, as the new date for the June weather-related postponement of the 2022 Pride Run St. Pete running and walking event.

RaceLookup announces Sunday, October 9, 2022, as the new date for its annual event in St. Pete, Florida. The running and walking event was initially scheduled in June and postponed for weather.

The event, Pride Run St. Pete, is a part of the Pride Run Series, RaceLookup’s more fun run and walk series. The series promotes IDEA – inclusion, diversity, equality/equity, and acceptance for everyone. The series currently has running and walking events in six states, and everyone is welcome at these events.

Registration is open to new participants on its PrideRunSeries.com website under St. Pete for anyone wanting to register and participate. Registered participants at the time of the postponement still hold their race entry, valid for the new date. Nothing from these participants is needed relating to the date change.

“Large events are always challenging due to their fluid nature and the complexity of all the moving parts,” says Race Director Dan Shabra. “We work hard to adapt and make the best choices for our participants, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and partners. In June, the weather presented us with a hard choice. But from this hard choice comes exciting change.”

In addition to the new date, the two significant changes are the new location and the changes to the race day Celebration Party and Health & Wellness Expo.

The event is now in the heart of St. Pete’s Historic Kenwood and Grand Central districts. The districts are known for a supportive network of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses and residents.

The race starts at Seminole Park, where the Come Out St. Pete “Family” Day Celebration continues into the midafternoon. It also uses Central Avenue, the main drag for the Grand Central arts-entertainment district. It finishes at Seminole Park and the Come Out St. Pete’s family day celebration.

Come Out St. Pete, ComeOutStPete.org is the Pride Run St. Pete’s local hosting charity partner and is now the after-race celebration organizer.

“We are elated about our opportunity to co-organize with our local hosting charity partner, Come Out St. Pete,” says Dan Shabra. “They are an essential local community leader and advocate and directly support the St. Pete Clearwater LGBTQ+ Tampa Bay community. They are also committed to IDEA. We cannot wait to experience the fun, the entertainment, and all the exhibitors on race day. It is going to be a fun day out in St. Pete!”
